Preface
Electrical equipment does many jobs in the manufacturing and process industries, agriculture, transport, and civil engineering. Obviously, its reliability, durability and performance cannot but have a direct bearing on activity in any of these fields, and a good deal depends on attending and maintenance personnel.
Experience shows that well-organized scheduled maintenance goes a long way towards securing a long and trouble-free service life for electrical equipment.
This book outlines in brief the organization of repair and maintenance of electrical equipment as it is practised in the Soviet Union. The subject-matter will lay for the reader a foundation on which he may build a substantial body of knowledge from reference to other publications on the design, manufacture, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment.
